I Build Champions. What Will You Build? (Chris Tiu's Habitat for Humanity Ad)

This is displayed at the Ayala under pass. Thanks to my friend Emay for taking a photo of it! Chris' ad is displayed along with other celebrities' ads for Habitat for Humanity.

Chris Tiu's Very First Commercial!

WOW!!!!! As in WOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!! After 8 years (yeah I think it's 8 or 9?, when he was a rookie or sophomore? I think it was around 2004!), I finally saw this video again!!!!!! Thanks to Master Philippines for uploading it on Youtube!

This was his very first commercial (and endorsement? I dunno if this was first or Eiko) and I knew when I first saw it his fans would grow more and more, because I was already his fan even before this endorsement. So it had! From that day on, Chris already garnered numerous endorsements and commercials...and thousands of fans!!! He already has 20 endorsements, as he said to Ms. Beth Celis of the Philippine Daily Inquirer (In the Huddle column, July 29 2012 issue). As I have said over and over again, he already dominated every...as in EVERY aspect of our lives and I am not complaining. Haha!

I remembered I was able to record this commercial on VHS, yeah VHS!!!! There weren't any dvd recorders, decent digicams or cameraphones during that time if I remember correctly. So I always rewinded my VHS tape to this commercial and watch the commercial over and over again. Haha! The time came when VHS tapes aren't the fad anymore (and tend to get moldy if not used huhu) so I wasn't able to watch it for years and I dunno where that particular tape went. :(

I also remembered a time when I was listening to Halikinu Radio (yes, I listened to it, for more Chris Tiu updates...hihi) and Mr. Mico Halili said (yeah I think it was him) that when this commercial was also seen inside Araneta during UAAP commercial breaks, the crowd went bananas. Hahaha! Well that's still true until today. Whenever he's at Araneta or MoA Arena...just flash his face on the screen and the UAAP crowd will go wild! Hihihi!!!

Thanks to Master Philippines for uploading it!!!!!!

EcoWarriors Tree Planting (June 12, 2012)

Chris Tiu already posted his own blog entry about this event, and I really loved how he wrote it. I was inspired again. Haha! His words brought me back to that day. It's nice to see our pictures in his blog too! He took most of the pictures himself. :)

So now here are my own words.

One rainy Independence Day morning, our adventure to Rizal, Laguna started.

This was my 2nd outreach with Chris Tiu and fellow TIUnatics. Yey! (^_^) I also got to meet more people this time around. Everybody at the back of the bus! Hello! Haha! Yey again! This was also my first time to experience a tree planting activity...and hiking! Whoah! (^0^) Or do you call that trekking? Haha! Basta ganun!

It was a long bus journey compared to the other outreach activities. It was as if we were going on a school field trip. Hahaha!

The road to the site was not smooth at all. We had to transfer from our bus and board jeepneys just to get to the actual site. It was really a long...long bumpy ride uphill. It was as if we were on an amusement park ride. I could say it's like the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland ♫ Tantarantan...tantaran.... Then what happened when we got down? Weeeeeeeehhh!!!!! That was fun. Haha!

Group picture before we hiked to the top!
Do you think our journey stopped already in that picture above? No it wasn't the end...it was hiking time! But no, we didn't climb a mountain. It's a hill. ♫ The hills are alive, with the sound of music...♫ Okay, so off we went. Wow, that was really tiring. Good thing the sun wasn't really shining brightly that time, thanks to the clouds overshadowing the sky that time. But the good thing was when we reached the top, the view was sooooo beautiful. Our energy was replenished because of that! The wind was blowing hard too! Hahahaha! Another thing to be thankful about...it wasn't raining in Laguna! It would have been really really hard if it did!

The difference in distance between our first stop and last stop. The sign was so far in the 2nd pic. Haha!

♫ Heal the world...make it a better place...for you and for me and the entire human race...♫ (^_^)

First stop, all volunteers gathered around. Nice view from this spot.

So we saw lots of lots of volunteers probably from different organizations. Then afterwards, the continuation of our hiking adventure began. We went down and down...walked walked walked then....waaaahhhh climb again? I think by this time we really felt the heat and humidity. I now could relate to what the guys of my favorite show 1박2일 (2 Days and 1 Night) felt when they climbed mountains, although we only hiked on a hill. So the journey got harder. Some of our companions were able to ride an army truck to go to the tree planting site, while some us got left behind. Yeah, us on the pic below. Hehe!

I remember Chris asking us if we were still ok, then I said "Puwede bang lumipad?" Hahaha! That's what I  really felt! Wish we could fly like a bird and swoosh to the planting site. Anywho, since we don't have wings...we walked again. Haha!

Off we go to plant trees!
Finally we got to the planting site! Yipee! We saw some other volunteers planting already. Wow...I was wondering why other people got to plant more than 1...I was holding only one plant! Waaaaaaahhh!!! I wasn't able to get more plants along the way. I seriously thought 1 is okay. Okay hit my head. *boog*

Chris Tiu digging for gold...este digging a hole for the tree.

Chris helped me find a spot for my little tree, because I was like lost in space already and Manong soldier helped dig a hole for it. Yey!!!!

It was really nice to see Chris taking pictures himself! Thank you again Chris for the pic above! (^_^)

Hello Chichy! Please grow healthy and strong!

I do hope she grows into a strong and healthy mahogany tree! Go Chichy! Fighting! Haha! May the rain and sun shower you with more nutrition and may you bring us more oxygen and shade. (^_^)

After planting trees, we all journeyed down. Yeah, now we had to go down. In that dry condition I remember slipping once and almost slipped for a few times. Imagine if it rained...thank God it did not really rain. The weather was really on our side. Thank you!!!!

So the journey down continued. We rode the jeepney ala Indiana Jones and went back to our bus. Then we journeyed to Ultimart San Pablo for our lunch in Greenwich! When we saw the mall we were like WOW! That mall looked really really nice. Then it was time to eat! Yeeeeeeyyyy! Hahaha!

Group picture before eating! :)

Our food! Nom nom nom! There was also pizza, of course!

Autograph session with the fans! :)

Group picture after eating! From Chris' blog too! :)

We came. We saw. We conquered Tayak Hill. Haha! That was one tiring but fulfilling activity once again! After all the ups and downs that happened, at the end of the day we were all happy. We got to do something for the environment. Being an EcoWarrior was really fun and fulfilling! We can continue being an EcoWarrior at home or any place we go to. Let's do it! :)

Until next time! (^_^)

Habitat for Humanity Build (July 17, 2011)

How fast time flies! This was actually 1 year ago! I'm a year late for posting this! Haha! Well, I really waited for the 1 year anniversary. Teehee!

Ok...forgive me. LOL

Before I share my own insights, let me share 2 articles written about the event, the first one written by Mr. Chris Tiu himself!

Source: Meg (December 2011-January 2012)

Source: Inside Showbiz ( September 2011 )

It's nice to see our group picture included in both magazine articles! Something to treasure forever! :)

The Habitat for Humanity build was the very first outreach I was able to join with the TIUnatics. :) I have experienced a Habitat for Humanity build before way back in college, but not with Chris Tiu (yeah, there's no way he'll be there if it's our school's activity, haha!). Thanks to Cielo, Anna and Mike for helping me get along with the others in this activity. I was really happy I was able to join this. It was really a very fulfilling event!

I experienced doing two types of jobs.  The first one was carrying sacks with gravel and passing it to another volunteer. No, not a sack-full of gravel. Haha! It won't reach the top if it was! It was like we helped transport gravel from below to the top of the house being built. Something like that.

The hardest was the second task we undertook, installing the rivets (yeah, I think that's what you call those type of nails) to connect steel frames together.

Anna and I trying to install the rivets into the steel frames.
It was hard at first that's why Anna and I supported each other for a while, then after getting used to it we got to do the job alone. Yahoo! That was fulfilling! Whew!

Chris also roamed around the site and greeted the volunteers.

Staff from GMA News TV's Good News program were also at the site and interviewed Chris and other volunteers.

Here's my video when he was being interviewed, Well, you won't hear a thing though because of the wind. Haha! The wind that day was blowing strong in that area.

The TIUnatics being interviewed too about the Habitat Build.

This is the actual video shown on TV, although this is not the clearest version. I recorded this myself just using my camera. I couldn't find the clearest version I saw before.

Photo session! :)

Group pic with all the volunteers!
This was actually a birthday celebration for him too because his birthday was 2 days ago before the activity date. Yey!

Chris and his birthday cake from Greenwich! Of course, shaped like a pizza!  View from the back. Haha!
Here's my own video during the photo session with his cake. I should have gone to the front. Haha!

Lunch from Greenwich! Yum yum yum!

Autograph session! :)
We were all tired afterwards because of the heat and hard work we have done. But it was all worth it. We know all the work we've done is for a better cause. It will help shelter families in need. What we have done is just a small portion of the whole process of building houses, but what we've done will surely go a long way.

Thank you to Chris for uniting us all for this activity, and for celebrating his birthday with us! I'll never forget this day! :)

Hello July!

Okay, I know I should have said "Hello July!" 2 weeks ago. Anyway, mid-July is the most important date anyway! :)

I made a calendar for my personal use and dedicated July to Chris Tiu!! Well, I couldn't find a pic I could use and cut for my calendar (since I was avoiding printing pics that time...tipid-mode), so I used a spare Yo Card featuring Chris and Ms. Lexi.

♫ Happy birthday to you..happy birthday to you...happy birthday, happy birthday...happy birthday to you!♫

Total Girl Ph's planner even had Chris Tiu's birthday noted! :) Thanks to Erica for the pic!

Just this afternoon, Ylla, Ann, Cielo, Karen and I celebrated Chris Tiu's birthday, with other July celebrants like Floree, Teukie and Heechul. Heehee!

As you can see...I redesigned the blog in time for Chris Tiu's birthday!!! Yey! Hihi! Hope you guys like the new design. Anyway, I've featured pics from the Habitat for Humanity Build and EcoWarriors Tree Planting, two of Chris Tiu's outreach programs I was able to participate in. I was supposed to post my entries about those now, but I guess I would be able to post it on a later date. Those are special events so I didn't want to rush entries for those. Will share really really soon!

Ciao ciao!

Happy birthday again to Chris! :)

My UNIQLO Experience

Since the UNIQLO ambassadors have been revealed, lots of pics of them were seen all around. I saw a bus before but did not have the chance to take a pic of it. Well here are some I saw though...

If you've been using Facebook during UNIQLO's Vote & Win promo, you would have seen the ad above on Facebook, on the left side. Hihi!

This is the best humongous ad I've ever seen!!! Don't you agree? And it's still in MoA till now! (^_^)

I was able to check-out UNIQLO's soon-to-be location before the opening. They displayed their graphic shirts they called UT. These were the ones featured for the Vote & Win promo. I tried and tried voting, but never won. Haha! I would have wanted to win a free trip to Japan! Huwaaaah!

Hello Kitty!!! My favorite!!!!!
These are my favorite designs! :)
I also love Snoopy and the gang!

You would have seen these ads hanging all over MoA before the opening!

Since I love the ad...I even included this. Haha!!!

I finally got to visit the store a week after the opening. I didn't experience the blockbuster line. I heard it was crazy during its opening weekend! Thanks to Ate Che for going with me that time, although I didn't buy anything at first. I just looked around and took pictures. Haha! there were still a lot of people and it was hard to pick something.

I really really really love this pic. My most favorite as of this time. :) This is seen outside the store.

This one is seen inside, near the cashier.

My favorite picture again, inside the store too near the cashier.

Also love this pic...but doesn't beat the first one. Teehee!
Neon Genesis Evangelion shirts!!! Too bad, they are only for males. What about the female fans?
This was on my wish list. I said I'll come back for her the next time I visit the store.
The day before my supposed to be "UNIQLO Day" with my friend Con, I saw this insert on our newspaper.

Tiuperman!!! ^_^
Another ad I've seen hanging all over MoA

In the end, these were the shirts I bough. Hello Kitty and Snoopy!!! ^^

Ehehehehehe! (^_^)

Wishing I would see the One Piece gang and Star wars grace the UNIQLO store in MoA too someday. This was taken in CoEx Mall in Seoul. I just took a pic. (T_T)
